The JCO pipe production line — often called a JCO PIPE MACHINE LINE — is a specialized automatic forming line used to manufacture large-diameter longitudinally welded pipes (commonly for oil, gas, or structural applications). The term “JCO” refers to the forming sequence of the steel plate into a circular pipe shape:


🧩1. Process Overview

  1. Plate Edge Milling Machine
    • Bevels and straightens both edges of the steel plate to ensure welding accuracy.
  2. Pre-Bending Machine
    • Bends both edges of the steel plate slightly before JCO forming, ensuring smooth curvature transition.
  3. JCO Forming Press
    • The plate is pressed sequentially into the shapes of “J”, “C”, and “O” by a hydraulic forming press.
    • The “J” and “C” shapes are formed from both sides toward the center, then closed into “O”.
    • This step defines the roundness and dimensional precision of the pipe.
  4. Tack Welding Station
    • Temporary welds the open seam to hold the shape before final welding.
  5. Inside & Outside Longitudinal Seam Welding
    • Usually submerged arc welding (SAW) for both inside and outside seams.
  6. Mechanical Expanding Machine
    • Expands the pipe to final size, improves roundness, and relieves internal stress.

    • Ensures the pipe’s pressure strength and weld integrity.
  8. End Facing & Beveling Machine
